Why did you come to NSIA?

I am from China, and I chose NSIA because I believe it is the best school in Auckland to develop my cooking skills.

What have you learnt?

Over the past two years, I have been lucky enough to have highly experienced tutor chefs to teach me many practical skills that I can apply in the kitchen. As the tutors were so generous with their time, I feel I learnt more than I might have elsewhere.

Where are you working now?

I am working at the Fiordland Lodge on the South Island. It's one of the best luxury lodges in New Zealand, and my role is Chef de Partie. I was lucky to find this job, and the NSIA Careers team helped me with my CV and gave me tips for interviews.

What is your career goal now?

I hope I can be Sous Chef one day in the future – that’s my goal right now! I enjoy working in New Zealand, because I love the beauty and nature of the country, People here are nice and friendly, and I hope to contribute more to this lovely country.
