Adam Hart - Professional Cookery

Adams career has taken many turns since he first stepped into the kitchen at the age of 15, owning his own café at 19, and then going on as Head Chef of a seafood restaurant by 21.

He is still involved in restaurants, although devoting most of his free time to food media, cooking, styling, and designing recipes for a number of magazines and food advertisements, so far publishing over 400 recipes.

Over his career he has traveled through various areas, spending time in Asia and the Pacific Islands to create his ‘Pacific Style’ of cooking and had the opportunity to cook for people of all walks of life from Hollywood celebrities, world leaders, and dignitaries to the New Zealand Maori Party.

Adam is presently a professional member of the New Zealand Food Writers Guild, and keeps his passion with fine food alive through his catering company, Hartland Cuisine, which caters for events and private functions, as well as importing specialty food items.

He is very excited at the prospect of teaching at NSIA, and hopes that by passing on his knowledge and enthusiasm with food he will help to keep the next generation of chefs excited about their future.
