NSIA Culinary Fare Olympics

NSIA Culinary Fare Olympics

An extremely competitive day held at NSIA Tower brings out the gold in the Academy’s rising talent.

An intensive and time precision demanding day organised by Jason McGeorge and Tim Aspinall who utilised the collective expertise of the NSIA teaching staff.

This event was given an extra touch of Culinary Fare realism by the fantastic Master of Ceremonies Roger Mail pouring the pressure on the competitors to complete the given task for their specific category. This occasion was set in motion to heighten and hone the necessary preparation and essential key components that will help the students on the day of the actual National Culinary Fare competitions.

There were many NSIA student trainees competing for both the hot and cold cooking sections, static desserts, live margarine carving and various front of house categories. The preparation put in by all the students was brilliant and this paid with great results across the board. Each competitor gave 110% effort in order to build their skill set and confidence leading up to the Nationals on the 19th to 21st of August.

Head of School Tim Aspinall unequivocally states “This was one hyper active event, with our focused competitors and our tutors functioning as judges who all performed extremely well. This was all helped along by a massive student crowd support throughout the day. Well done to all our competitors and we believe the best for the coming major culinary event on the 2012 calendar”.
