NSIA students enjoy working for Clooney’s Restaurant

During The Taste of Auckland Festival in November 2010.

Taste of Auckland is part of the internationally acclaimed Taste Festivals taking place in 13 cities around the world this year from London to Cape Town. Over 4 days 15 of Auckland’s leading chefs set up their kitchens in the middle of Victoria Park and produced thousands of their signature dishes for the Auckland public to purchase, at a fraction of their normal price.

Three very talented NSIA students were arranged by Connect to work for Clooney’s restaurant over the 4 days of the Taste of Auckland festival. They worked closely alongside Clooney’s Head Chef Des Harris, to produce fine dining styled food for thousands of guests over the 4 day event.

The students that were involved were:

Seung – Kyu Lee (Jeff) , Gang Jiang (Sabrina) and Eon Sol Cheong (Lucia)

Des Harris has said that the event was a great success, and the students all did a fantastic job at the festival. He has just employed an Ex NSIA student Jun Kim as a Commis Chef who is doing a great job.

The dishes Clooney’s had on offer were:

South Island Salmon, smoked scallop, iced fennel, orange & nasturtium.
OR
Gameford Lodge King Cole Duck Breast, pickled apple,
Maple & Mustard
OR
Lemon & Elderflower Tart
