  • How many students do you have?
    Around 900

  • When are the graduations each year?
    February, April, July, September and November every year

  • How many hours can your international students work on their student visas?
    They are legally entitled to work 20 hours per week whilst they are studying.

  • Do you just have international students?
    No, NSIA has local students as well

  • Do your students speak good English?
    The minimum IELTS score for international students is 5.0 for our cookery classes, and 5.5 for our students wanting to study our Hospitality and Hotel Management Courses.

  • Can they work full time in summer?
    Yes, international students that are on a student visa are entitled to work full time over the schools annual holidays in December and January.

  • What types of jobs are your students predominantly after?
    Commis Chef, Kitchen Hand, Chef De Partie, Chef, Receptionist, food and Beverage attendant, bar person, wait staff, barista, baker, cake decorator.

  • What is the students availability for work?
    Most NSIA students live in Auckland City or on the North Shore, so are able to work in most areas of Auckland easily. We have a vast arrray of class schedules for our students at both campus’s ranging from morning, afternoon, evening and weekend classes.
