Enrolment Procedure

The following documents are required prior to enrolment:

  • A valid copy of your passport
  • Evidence of Academic IELTS 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0 or a recognised equivalent 
Please refer to individual programmes for minimum entry criteria as this differs depending on the programme you are interested in.

Enrolment procedure for international students enrolling through an agent:

  1. Initial enquiry from the agent is sent to the NSIA International Recruitment Team.

  2. Once you have received and understood all relevant course information as well as the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students from your agent or the NSIA International Recruitment Team, an enrolment form should be completed. A copy of the Code can be found here.

  3. NSIA will then assess the enrolment information received from your agent which needs to include your previous academic achievement and evidence of English proficiency at the appropriate level (where applicable).

  4. A consultation process is conducted directly between the NSIA International Recruitment Team and you, through written and/or verbal communication.

  5. Upon successful consultation, the NSIA International Recruitment Team will issue a conditional Offer of Place or unconditional Offer of Place (if you meet all entry requirements) to your agent. This includes programme fee and related material cost information.

  6. Payment of the full amount of all programme fees and related material fees are payable on acceptance of the unconditional Offer of Place in order to secure a place on the programme.

  7. Once payment is received, NSIA will issue a receipt for the corresponding amount.

  8. Your student visa application can then be lodged through your agent or through the NSIA online visa application system (the online system is only applicable to students who are already in New Zealand).

  9. It is compulsory for all international students to have medical and travel insurance covering the period of their visa.

  10. Once a visa has been approved, you will commence the programme on the agreed start date. 

Enrolment procedure for international students enrolling directly (no agent involvement):

  1. Email the NSIA International Recruitment Team for an enrolment form.

  2. Once you have received and understood all relevant course information as well as the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students from the NSIA International Recruitment Team, an enrolment form should be completed and returned to the same email address. A copy of the Code can be found here.

  3. NSIA will then assess the enrolment information received from the NSIA International Recruitment Team which needs to include your previous academic achievement and evidence of English proficiency at the appropriate level (where applicable).

  4. A consultation process will be conducted directly between yourself and the NSIA International Recruitment Team through written and/or verbal communication.

  5. Upon successful consultation, the NSIA International Recruitment Team will issue you with a conditional Offer of Place or unconditional Offer of Place, if you meet all entry requirements. This includes programme fee and related material cost information.
